Job Title: Controller (Professional Services)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead the financial operations for our client (professional services company). This role is responsible for managing all accounting functions, ensuring financial integrity, and providing key insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of professional services financial management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to partner with cross-functional teams to drive business success. Key Responsibilities:
+ Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations. Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
+ Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development and implementation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans. Monitor performance against budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
+ Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and reviews.
+ Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with department heads to optimize financial processes and support operational initiatives. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and increased efficiency within the finance function.
+ Strategic Analysis & Decision Support: Provide insightful financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management. Support strategic initiatives and business planning, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
+ Team Leadership & Development: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
+ Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the professional services industry.
+ Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
