Description
Exciting Controller opportunity for established real estate development and property management company based in Richmond, VA. Reporting to the owner, this Controller will oversee property management accounting and prepare financial reports, and providing investor analyses.
Responsibilities:
• Direct and oversee the property accounting team and its processes
• Prepare and review financial reporting packages, providing detailed financial information and analytics
• Compile, analyze, and review financial data through monthly property reports
• Manage debt compliance preparation as required
• Oversee daily cash management activities for fund accounting
• Review monthly fund bank reconciliations, manually recording journal entries for reconciling items if necessary
• Coordinate with the Property Accounting Director to review cash balances and communicate cash flow availability for the Funds
• Assist with performance analysis, modeling, reporting, and quarterly distributions for the funds and fund properties
• Support REIT accounting, compliance, and reporting tasks
• Prepare presentations for reporting periods and for potential acquisitions and sales
• Assist in planning and executing investor and capital raising events, including annual meetings for the funds
• Aid in the drafting of new fund documentation, including preparation of charts, graphs, and other supporting analysis
• Engage with investors to fulfill requests and inquiries.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Expertise in Auditing procedures
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Ability to interpret Financial Statements
• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation
• Proficiency in Financial Modeling
• Experience in KPI Reporting
• Knowledge of Fund reporting
• Experience with Private Equity Fund operations
• Familiarity with Investor reporting
• Knowledge of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT's)
