Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Controller in Washington, District of Columbia. This position is within the financial industry where you will play an integral role in managing and controlling the company's finances. Responsibilities • Oversee and manage the execution of the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Handle the reconciliation of bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information. • Lead and supervise the budgeting process, ensuring all budgets are accurate and aligned with the company's financial goals. • Manage the preparation and posting of journal entries to ensure the accuracy of financial statements. • Oversee cash management procedures to optimize cash flow and ensure financial stability. • Develop and implement financial control procedures to safeguard the company's assets. • Collaborate with other departments to resolve any financial-related issues or inquiries. • Continually review and update financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Requirements • Proficiency in budget processes • Demonstrated experience with month-end close procedures and reporting • Strong knowledge and experience in financial reporting, including the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial summaries • Expertise in performing bank reconciliations, with a focus on identifying and resolving discrepancies.
