Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller to join our team, based in Rockford, IL. As a Controller, your primary function will be to manage the financial activities of our organization, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all areas of finance and accounting. This role requires a hands-on approach and a forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to create and execute strategies that will drive our organization forward.
The salary range is $110,000 - $140,000. The client offers insurance benefits, paid time off, vacation pay and 401K
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process all financial activities including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Manage daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Supervise the weekly payroll process to ensure accuracy
• Manage and maintain accurate fixed asset entries and records
• Balance and maintain the general ledger with up-to-date entries
• Implement controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments
• Develop and maintain a standardized system of accounting records and techniques
• Conduct internal audits to assess the financial status of the organization
• Ensure the organization's compliance with federal and state regulations
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors
• Manage and report all tax responsibilities on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Collaborate with the sales team and owners to identify and prioritize sales strategies that will drive profitable growth
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or similar role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Software Systems.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required.
• Familiarity with CRM systems.
• Ability to use Crystal Reports effectively.
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions.
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP).
• Proficiency in handling Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Demonstrated experience in Auditing.
• In-depth knowledge of Budget Processes.
• Experience in Month End Close procedures.
• Proficient in Financial Statement Preparation.
• Experience in Budgeting - Forecasting is mandatory.
