Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Controller in the finance industry, located in Illinois. The role involves comprehensive management of our accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the entire accounting function, including the management of AP, AR, and General Ledger activities to guarantee accurate and timely financial processes.
• Conduct thorough analyses of financial reports and statements to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership, providing detailed variance analyses and suggesting operational improvements.
• Supervise AP processes, including the management of vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
• Manage AR activities, including customer invoicing, collections, and aging analysis to improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
• Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts, including bank statements, fixed assets, and accruals.
• Lead the accounting team, mentoring and developing members for detail oriented growth and improved department productivity.
• Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting operations through automation and technology, including leveraging ERP systems and financial platforms.
• Drive process improvements in areas such as financial reporting, AP/AR workflows, and cross-departmental collaboration. Requirements • A minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles with progressive responsibility
• Proficiency in key Accounting Functions
• Demonstrable experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Sound knowledge and experience in Auditing
• Familiarity with Budget Processes and ability to effectively manage them
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• A proven track record in Financial Reporting and analysis
