Description
We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Controller based in Columbus, Indiana. The Controller will be supervising the Accounting department, providing crucial financial and operational information to aid management in making informed decisions. This role also includes the oversight of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, maintaining the General Ledger, and generating specified financial reports.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise the Accounting department, including the upkeep of the General Ledger and management of the Billing function, along with administration of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Establish and ensure the implementation of robust internal financial management control systems and procedures.
• Lead the development of necessary financial statements and operational reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review financial statements and operational reports with all relevant parties.
• Oversee and ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and accounting data, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the preparation of financial presentations for meetings.
• Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports of key financial and operational metric trends.
• Initiate and optimize strategies to enhance cash and working capital positions.
• Manage AR credit policies and collection activity.
• Manage AP vendor payment policies to maintain vendor relationships and ensuring continued services and supplies.
• Evaluate organizational performance against budgets with functional leaders and management team.
• Provide the management team with business forecasts to enhance management’s decision-making process.
• Prioritize cost containment, cost reductions, and improvement on VAOI, as well as communication of strategies and executable action plans to the management team.
• Generate specified financial reports and create new reports as needed.
• Establish and maintain systems and controls to verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.
• Undertake and participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile special reports.
• Attend company and industry-related meetings, as required.
• Establish individual goals aligned with the company's business strategies and objectives.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by executive leadership.
Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as Controller.
• Proficient in Accounting Functions and related operations.
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Proven track record of conducting Auditing processes effectively.
• Experience in managing Budget Processes, including planning, allocation, and monitoring.
• Proficiency in handling General Ledger operations, including maintaining and reviewing.
• Capability to perform Reconciliations of accounts, transactions, and financial data.
• Demonstrated experience in Month-end Close Activities ensuring accurate and timely completion.
• Ability to prepare and present Monthly Financial Reporting to support strategic decision-making.
• Skills in developing Cash Flow Forecasts to manage company's liquidity.
• Expertise in Budgeting and Forecasting to align financial objectives with company goals.
