Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Controller in the construction industry. The role is based in Lee's Summit, Missouri. As a Controller, you will be responsible for managing financial statements, supervising full-cycle accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor management, and collections. • Keep financial statements up to date and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. • Analyze financial data and communicate key findings to the management team. • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. • Coordinate month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Handle full-cycle payroll processing, including deductions, reimbursements, and taxes. • Use accounting software systems to automate and streamline accounting functions. • Monitor work in progress and use percentage of completion method to recognize revenue. • Implement budget processes and conduct internal control reviews. • Supervise a senior accountant responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and full-cycle accounting. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role as a Controller • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems • Demonstrated experience in managing Accounting Functions • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Familiarity with Auditing processes • Proven expertise in managing Budget Processes • Ability to handle Month End Close operations • Experience in preparing Annual Audited Financial Statements • Demonstrated experience in preparing Consolidated Financial Statements • Proficiency in preparing Monthly Financial Statements • Ability to Prepare Financial Statements accurately • Familiarity with the principles of Internal Control • Experience in conducting Internal Control Review • Proven ability to manage Full Cycle Payroll • Experience with WIP - Work In Progress accounting • Understanding of percentage (%) of completion accounting method Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
