Description We are offering a long term consulting opportunity for a Controller for one of our clients in Salinas, California. As a Controller, you will be tasked with handling a wide range of duties, including managing both the accounts receivable and payable teams, overseeing banking services, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with budgeting processes. Responsibilities: • Oversee all banking services used by the organization, ensuring they are regularly updated and reconciled • Manage the accounts receivable team, ensuring customer payments are monitored, deductions are managed, and delinquent customers are followed up on • Oversee the accounts payable team, ensuring adequate controls and processes are in place • Maintain the company’s general ledger, making necessary entries • Assist in maintaining and costing inventory • Contribute to the preparation of month-end/year-end reports, including customer profitability • Assist leadership with the annual budgeting process • Direct accounting operations, including control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures • Manage the monthly closing process, including journal entries, cost accounts, and financial statements • Prepare monthly and annual forecasts/budgets for profit and loss and all defined cost centers • Collaborate with the CFO to increase efficiency, profitability, and drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives • Assist with maintaining inventory accuracy and managing inter-plant material transfers • Ensure accounts payable are paid in a timely manner • Perform periodic bank reconciliations as needed • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management • Provide a system of management reports • Complete and provide financial analyses as needed for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit Requirements • Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) • Strong skills in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) • Experience with Month End Close processes • Familiarity with Sage X3 software Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
