Description We are offering an interim controller opportunity that is hybrid. Our client is located in San Mateo, California. The interim controller is responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role requires hands-on experience with QuickBooks and the ability to work closely with leadership to drive financial strategy and decision-making. The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized financial professional with experience in healthcare or small business finance. This role pays up to $90/hr. for the right controller. Responsibilities: + Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. + Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. + Maintain and reconcile financial records in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. + Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and oversee financial transactions. + Work closely with leadership to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for growth and sustainability. + Oversee the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and tax professionals. + Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and mitigate risk. + Support financial aspects of grant applications, insurance reimbursements, and funding opportunities. + Manage intercompany accounting Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred). + 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in healthcare or a small business setting. + Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) is required. + Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations. + Experience with healthcare billing, insurance reimbursements, and compliance is a plus. + Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights. + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. + Ability to work independently and adapt to a dynamic environment.
