Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the finance industry, based in Forest, Virginia, United States. The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the financial health of the organization. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage all financial operations within the organization. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements. • Maintain the company's financial health by analyzing and presenting key financial data. • Collaborate with other departments to strategize and plan the company's financial future. • Use CPA skills to ensure financial reports and records are accurate and reliable. • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies promptly. • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency. • Prepare and present financial reports to the management team. • Participate in financial audits and collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance. • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations. Requirements • Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. • Strong proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet programs. • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the same industry. • Excellent understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods. • Profound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, providing direction and motivation. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • High level of integrity and trustworthiness. • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure. • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. • Excellent problem-solving skills. • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong organizational skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. • Willingness to continuously update knowledge and skills. • Proven track record of process improvement. • Strong analytical skills with an ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
