Controller
Description We are looking for a Controller to join our team based in Chantilly, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee our accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. You will also play a vital role in guiding our financial decisions and collaborating with leadership to drive business growth. Responsibilities: • Oversee accounting functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger to maintain accurate financial operations. • Prepare and present detailed financial statements, including analysis of variances, discrepancies in gross margin, and other key metrics for decision-making purposes. • Ensure financial processes comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and implement robust internal controls to maintain accuracy, mitigate risk, and align with regulations. • Supervise and manage monthly and yearly closing processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations and financial reviews. • Collaborate with various corporate teams to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and evolving standards. • Lead, mentor, and train the accounting team to develop skills and continuously improve team performance. • Coordinate with external auditors or tax professionals to ensure clean and efficient audits. • Identify opportunities to automate and improve financial workflows. • Oversee the accounting side of acquisitions, including consolidation of accounting and technical aspects. • Plan and implement processes and procedures that prepare the company for growth. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller or similar role • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems • Experience with Crystal Reports • Extensive knowledge of accounting functions • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Familiarity with budget processes • CPA Designation or CPA Eligible • Proficiency in using NetSuite • Experience in Private Equity • Experience in a Family Office environment Please reach out to Cesario Brooks via LinkedIn if interested in this Controller role.
