Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the implementation of effective financial controls. This role involves managing the accounting department, preparing financial statements, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
+ Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
+ Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
+ Develop and manage the annual budget process.
+ Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
+ Prepare financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
Internal Controls:
+ Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
+ Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Accounting Operations:
+ Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
+ Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
Financial Analysis:
+ Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
+ Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
Compliance:
+ Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
+ Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
Team Leadership:
+ Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
+ Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
+ Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
+ Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $190000.00 - $230000.00/yr.
