Controller - Biologics Segment
Position Summary

The Biologics Segment Controller will be responsible for the Biologics Segment’s accounting function, reporting and policies. This individual should be comfortable working directly with senior management of the company as well as the external auditors.
The Role
Contribute to the overall business strategy of the Segment. Actively participate in the strategic, operational, and tactical activities of the Segment
Conduct financial analyses and participate in management decisions to achieve business objectives
Responsible for coordinating the technical accounting and accuracy of financial reporting with the business, enabling functions and with Corporate and initiating improvements to quality and efficiency
Support the Segment financial planning & budgeting processes
Interprets and implements Catalent’s Accounting Policies and Procedures and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles with direction from the Corporate Controller and the Technical Accounting Network
Works with the Technical Accounting Network to understand new accounting regulations and completed business development transactions to assist the business in implementing the necessary accounting
Performs special analysis of major issues and accounting nuances as required and recommend solutions to technical accounting issues coordinating with Technical Accounting Network
Partners with Corporate Audit and Finance leaders to drive closure of open audit issues, and working proactively to prevent future issues/manage risk, and providing senior leaders with status updates as appropriate
Tracks progress of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) processes to comply with SOX. Provides oversight to remedy deficiencies found in controllership areas
Lead accounting and accounting-related projects within the segment (e.g., implementation of new accounting standards, business and M&A projects
Work directly with the external auditors on accounting positions, reporting and disclosure
Create presentations and present to senior management. Coordinate work activities with other company leaders around the world
Other duties and responsibilities as needed
The Candidate
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an Accounting, Finance or Business-related area, or equivalent experience
CPA preferred, with public accounting experience
9+ years’ experience in finance and accounting
4+ years’ supporting manufacturing and distribution entities
Ability to lead professional staff in timely completion of recurring tasks; Understanding of Experience with ERP systems (JDE and SAP preferred)
Experience with planning and consolidation systems (OneStream preferred)
Expert in US GAAP and IFRS
Experience in financial reporting and/or technical accounting of an SEC registrant
Experience working directly with external auditors to resolve complex accounting and reporting issues
Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and bring a hands-on approach with the ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-moving environment with a wide variety of strategic initiatives and constant deadlines
Experience implementing best practices that require significant innovation for improving processes by applying advanced understanding of complex functional/technical and business issues and challenges
Ability to anticipate resource requirements and adjust based on emerging issues and priorities
Demonstratable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience
