**Hybrid 3 days in office**

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monthly/Year-End Close:

* Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

* Oversee the preparation and review of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.

Financial Reporting:

* Conduct thorough balance sheet reviews to maintain clean and accurate financial records.

* Provide narratives and presentations for the finance committee, explaining financial performance and variances.

* Prepare and review payroll reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Budgeting:

* Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop and manage the annual budget.

Tax Compliance:

* Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including preparing and filing Form 990 and 990-T.

* Handle sales tax and group exemption filings as needed.

Audit and Compliance:

* Maintain a clean balance sheet and ensure readiness for annual audits.

* Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

Leadership and Mentorship:

* Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

* Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring continuous improvement and development.

Project Management:

* Manage RFP processes for banking, investments, and new financial software systems.

* Oversee the selection and implementation of new software, ensuring seamless integration and improved efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.

* Active CPA license required.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience

* Strong technical acumen and understanding of GAAP.

* Experience with nonprofit accounting, including 501(c)(3) organizations and endowments.

* Excellent audit experience.

* Strong leadership, mentoring, and teamwork skills.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills.

* Proficiency with financial software; experience with MIP is a plus.
