Our Position Reporting team is seeking a professional who is looking to collaborate with various Operations teams, Compliance, Legal, and Business to mitigate risks associated with the position reporting requirements and contribute to business enablement.

Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. Our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business. Controllers also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.
We're a team of specialists charged with managing the firm’s liquidity, capital, and risk, and providing the overall financial control and reporting functions. Whether assessing the creditworthiness of the firm’s counterparties, monitoring market risks associated with trading activities, or offering analytical and regulatory compliance support, our work contributes directly to the firm’s success. The business is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.
The Controllers group is responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets: to help maintain the integrity of Goldman Sachs' finances and expenditures. Through careful consideration and analyses of firm finances, objectives and strategies, we ensure that the firm's businesses continue to be profitable and efficiently run. Controllers also ensure that all business practices are following financial and regulatory requirements worldwide. Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential to Controllers, professionals in the department experience Goldman Sachs businesses, products, and sophisticated technology systems in depth.
JOB RESPONSBILITIES
Prepare to be exposed to various products under the 20+ reports the team covers by interacting with middle office teams, sales, other internal clients, and external regulators to meet regulatory requirements.Use your inquisitive mindset to evaluate and escalate risk items to protect the firm.Showcase your attention to detail by ensuring manual processes are done with care and also your creativity by enhancing the process to eliminate those where possible.Partner with Technology to review and improve scalability and process strategically and tactically.Grow with the team; develop a deeper understanding of complex transactions and work with our business partners to assess market changes and support new business.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Academic degree in business administration or financePreference of a minimum 5+ years of professional experience in a regulatory environment, preferably in the financial industry in APACBusiness fluency in English and Japanese language is a plus. These language skills would help the employee cover different markets and engage clients in Japan and Singapore. They would enable streamlined interactions with external regulators and internal stakeholders to meet global regulatory requirements and assist in safeguarding the firm’s policiesAttention to detail and time management are essential skills for this role. In addition, the candidate should have the flexibility required to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlinesStrong computing skills – comfortable with large data sets and automation toolsStrong communication - ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to a broad range of people across the Firm at various levels of senioritySelf-motivated and proactive - Ability to run with issues, get involved hands-on, and provide constant high-quality feedbackAbility to maintain mutual support within a high energy, high profile team
