SUMMARY


The candidate will be part of the IMD Product Controllers Insurance Accounting Team. The candidate will primarily interact with Controllers team/management, Client Services, Fixed Income, Operations and the Global Insurance Business Unit, among others. The entities involved will include separately managed accounts across multiple asset classes in support of global GSAM insurance asset management mandates.
 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

Responsible for coordination of detailed implementation planning and support of Clearwater Analytics investment accounting system book of record accounting clients with vendor (Clearwater) and GSAM stakeholder departments.Acquires and documents an understanding of client related accounting policies, oversees application and compliance of such policies in operational practice across GSAM business units and ensures an adequate control environment within the accounting services offering.Oversees and directs day-to-day operational activities with accounting vendor and GSAM federation staff members.Documents, and ensures adherence to, policies and procedures surrounding the insurance accounting platform and insurance mandate separate accounts within the GSAM separate account universe.Analyzes, reviews and reconciles book of record investment accounting results and ensures timely submission of client deliverables as contractually required.Supports Client Services Division in responding to client accounting related inquiries.Works closely with GSAM Operations and Technology teams to establish and troubleshoot standard workflow protocols in support of the accounting platform business model.Drives initiatives to develop and enhance the GSAM accounting and reporting outsourcing platform to meet ongoing insurance client requirements.Assist Global Insurance unit distribution team in understanding and developing marketing materials related to insurance investment accounting services offering.
 

 

EXPERIENCE/PREFERRED SKILLS 

Bachelors degree in accounting requiredRequires a minimum of two years in insurance investment/securities accounting experience in addition to Statutory investment systems implementation/conversion/support exposure.Knowledge of general investment accounting requirements and associated regulatory filings in addition to insurance specific regulatory accounting and operationsBroad knowledge of multi-basis investment related accounting requirements including STAT, GAAP, IFRS, etc. is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of insurance industry investment accounting/processing systems, workflows and associated deliverables including experience with Clearwater Analytics and/or SS&C platforms.Comprehensive analytical skill setStrong time management skills and the ability to adhere to strict deadlinesAdvanced knowledge of spreadsheet applicationsSound written and oral communication skills
