Where is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week in Minneapolis, MN. Up to 10% travel anticipated
What you will do:
People Management:
Manage direct reports, ensuring they are effectively allocated across various project teams.Mentor and supervise team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Ensure that direct reports have the necessary tools, training, and support to succeed in their roles.Monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports, providing feedback and supporting professional development.Technical Contribution:
Develop controller models for system-level control algorithms and logic that provide superior performance, enhance reliability, and diagnostics.Identify opportunities to enhance model-based design capabilities, enabling acceleration of value delivery to internal and external customers.Work with software development teams to integrate model-generated software into application software.Adhere to model development standards and processes.Stay updated with the latest advancements in control systems and apply relevant knowledge to ongoing projects.Strategic Planning:
Assist in planning and road mapping activities for embedded controller development.Provide input on project timelines, resource allocation, and technology strategies.Support aligning project goals with organizational objectives.Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for control systems innovation and continuous improvement.What you will bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science required. Other technical degrees may be considered with relevant work experience. Master’s Degree in Control Theory is strongly preferred.At least 7 years’ experience in controls, electronics, systems, or software engineering experience is required.At least 2 years’ experience leadership, either direct or indirect required.Experience with model-based design processes and modeling & simulation of complex systems is required.Understanding of control system design. Classical control knowledge required (PID control, linear control, digital filtering). Advanced control knowledge preferred (modern control theory, model predictive control, non-linear control, adaptive control, fuzzy logic).Understanding of optimization techniques is preferred.Advanced proficiency with Simulink and Stateflow is required. Proficiency in Azure DevOps is preferred.Experience in automating processes is preferred.Knowledge in refrigeration, vapor compression, or thermodynamics/fluid dynamics is preferred.Knowledge in compressors, engines, or power electronics is preferred.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $114,000 – 150,000
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
