Job Title: Automation Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with a strong focus on robotics, controls, and automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and troubleshooting robotics issues in the Stamping and Truck Final areas. Experience with PLC is not required, but the ability to independently troubleshoot robotics and automation equipment is essential. Candidates should have experience with Rockwell Allen Bradley PLC5 and Control Logix software, and be able to coordinate the automation team for both current and future actions.

ResponsibilitiesIndependently troubleshoot robotics and automation equipment (Durr, Fanuc, PLC5, Control Logix).Continuously evaluate equipment for quality and delivery improvements.Coordinate the automation team for current and future actions.Troubleshoot manufacturing automation issues, including setup and repair.Program new robotic functions and tasks, along with debugging equipment when necessary.Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation problems.Update program backups for automation systems.Program new installations of paint tooling and conveyor systems.Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements.Coordinate automation campaigns.Essential SkillsExperience with Rockwell Allen Bradley PLC5 and Control Logix software.Experience in robotic, controls, and automation.Ability to program from scratch and edit/troubleshoot existing programming.Fanuc robot experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering - preferred but not required.2+ years of automation experience in manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry.Experience with electrical, robotics, manufacturing, PLC programming, HMI, and Allen Bradley PLC.Work Environment

The office environment is climate-controlled, but the manufacturing floor is not, resulting in hot conditions during the summer and cold conditions during the winter. The work environment is typical of an automotive plant, characterized by a fast-paced, stressful, and unionized setting. The culture emphasizes a 'work hard, play hard' mentality, and candidates must be willing to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, often requiring immediate attention to breakdowns. The role involves collaboration with other controls engineers and technicians. Candidates must be open to working all shifts and willing to work 50-60 hour weeks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.88 - $41.88/hr.
