Controls Engineer
Job Title: Electrical Controls Engineer

Job Description

The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing control systems for industrial automation machines according to customer requirements. This role involves producing electrical schematics, creating BOMs, selecting components such as sensors, motors, drives, PLCs, programming VFDs, PLCs, and HMIs, and performing equipment verification tests. The engineer will also handle the layout and wiring of components within control panels, mount sensors, and route cables for automated machines. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, knowledge of electrical design tools and methods, and provide guidance to less experienced team members. The position requires up to 5% interstate and 10% local travel for team meetings, client consultations, field surveys, and construction observation. The engineer will manage multiple projects simultaneously and be involved in quoting, customer discussions, and purchasing.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Hastings, Minnesota.

Work Environment

Work involves both office and production floor environments. Flexible start and end times are available. The team consists of four members: two Mechanical Engineers and an Engineering Manager. The dress code is business casual, leaning more towards casual.
