Job Description

This company is a well-known automotive supplier who brings together expertise in electronics, clean mobility, lighting, interiors, and lifecycle change to drive change in the automotive industry. One in two vehicles in the world will have some sort of product from this company. At this specific site, they manufacture all tooling and weld equipment for North American plants. The Controls Engineer will be the sole Controls Engineer for this site. Travel is expected to be around 25% to regional company sites including Fort Wayne, IN, Toledo, OH, Franklin, KY, Louisville, KY, and Chattanooga, TN. The schedule is 5 days a week/8 hours a day with occasional overtime. All work will be performed on-site. The environment is clean and climate-controlled. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the following:

- Design of electrical control systems

- PLC modification and programming

- Design and build of control cabinets for machinery that has not been assembled

- Travel to other company sites for integration and installation of control systems

- Identify and suggest electrical motors/power supply needed

- Work within Ethernet communications such as DeviceNet, Profinet, and Profibus

- Integrate safety PLCs and safe I/O

- Understand OSHA requirements and safety standards

Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional controls engineering experienceProficient in PLCs (RsLogix500 and RsLogix5000)Experience with control system designProficient with Ethernet networking (Profibus, Profinet)
