Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description

The Controls Engineer's scope of work will be centered on a Transmission Gear Program. The role involves validating program capabilities with Siemens PLCs and CNC motion controls systems, commissioning new equipment, programming and troubleshooting electrical issues, actively participating in safety sign-offs, verifying equipment capabilities, and coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams to conduct meetings with Tier I suppliers.

ResponsibilitiesValidate program capabilities with Siemens PLCs and CNC motion controls systems.Commission new equipment.Program and troubleshoot electrical issues.Actively participate in safety sign-offs.Verify equipment capabilities.Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to conduct meetings with Tier I suppliers.Essential Skills5+ years of Controls/Electrical Engineering experience.Hands-on knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC, CNC, robot, vision, and other automation machines.Experience with Siemens software.Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., electrical engineering).Automotive industry experience or related fields (e.g., aluminum, metal cutting, machine shop).Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD).Additional Skills & Qualifications10+ years of Controls experience (preferred).Extensive software programming experience, Siemens-based preferred.Knowledge of international electrical/safety standards (UL, ISO, IEC, etc.) and familiarity with internal/external safety processes (risk assessments, PSS, coordinated safety, etc.).Familiarity with program delivery elements from the cost study phase to launch.Work Environment

The work environment is located at a Powertrain/Transmission facility in Sharonville, OH. The role involves working on the manufacturing floor about 50% of the time, which can vary. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with 0-10% travel required for training on new run-offs.
