Job Description
The ideal candidate for this position has a positive attitude, a solid work ethic, and enjoys working with others to produce a quality product. This role requires strong electrical troubleshooting skills, project management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact successfully with employees at all levels of the organization. The candidate must be able to work individually and as part of a team, and have a flexible schedule to support 2nd and 3rd shifts when needed.
ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical control systemsDesign, install, maintain, and modify PLC systems and be able to install and troubleshoot AC/DC drives and motorsUnderstand and be able to work with relays, contacts, transformers, motor starters, sensors, switches, etc.Provide technical support and make software changes on PLC-based equipmentAssist maintenance supervisors with machinery issuesReduce repeat downtime issues on machinesSupport the plant safety programAssist in the start-up of new technologyManage continuous improvement and modernization efforts of older systems within the plantContribute to cost-saving ideas and effortsAnalyze new designs supplied by new machine sales representativesEssential Skills5+ years of industrial experience with electrical control systemsKnowledge of WonderwareAbility to write advanced control system programmingExperience with PLC programming, specifically Allen-Bradley, GE, and SiemensElectrical troubleshooting skills, particularly with 480 Volt systemsExperience with HMI displaysHands-on experience with volt meter chasing issues in a production atmosphereAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent maintenance experienceWork Environment
The position requires a flexible schedule to support 2nd and 3rd shifts when needed. The work environment is production-based, involving hands-on experience with electrical cabinets, troubleshooting, and programming PLCs. The candidate should be comfortable working with various electrical components and systems, and be committed to supporting plant safety and continuous improvement efforts.
