Job Description
The Process Controls Engineer will be responsible for recommending, specifying, engineering, and implementing electrical control and automation upgrades to improve product quality, increase yield, and decrease downtime. This individual will work with production teams and engineers, as well as line operators, to provide day-to-day support of the control system components for the production facility.
ResponsibilitiesRecommend, specify, engineer, and implement electrical control and automation upgrades.Improve product quality, increase yield, and decrease downtime.Provide day-to-day support of the control system components for the production facility.Collaborate with production teams, engineers, and line operators.Essential SkillsPLC programmingControl systemsAnalog signalsProcess controlBachelor's in Electrical Engineering2-5 years of experience in controls or automation engineering, preferably in a chemical or manufacturing environmentExperience with control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, 4-20ma Analog signals)Additional Skills & QualificationsBasic or Intermediate level of AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD ElectricalExperience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with cybersecurity practices in industrial automationKnowledge of electrical drawings (panel layouts, motor schematics, wiring diagrams)Knowledge of Rockwell Automation’s Integrated Control System Development Suite for PlantPAxExperience in designing, configuring, and maintaining plant production networks, including industrial Ethernet, VLANs, and network security protocolsExperience in HVAC/Utilities system designWork Environment
Chemical manufacturing work environment with a 1st shift schedule from 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM, depending on preference.
