Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software for PLCs, programming and integrating safety controllers, designing HMI applications, managing SCADA systems, integrating servo-based motion control systems, and programming robots. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to travel occasionally for project installations.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test, and maintain software for PLCs, including Allen-Bradley, Bosch, and Siemens systems.Program and integrate safety controllers and safety PLCs to ensure the safe operation of machinery.Create and maintain HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications using Ignition.Develop and manage SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling industrial processes.Integrate high-speed and high-accuracy servo-based motion control systems.Program and integrate SCARA and 6-axis robots.Implement and manage communication protocols to ensure seamless data exchange between different systems and devices.Start up and debug complex systems, ensuring all components work together smoothly.Read and interpret electrical schematics to understand and troubleshoot system designs.Create detailed software design specifications and maintain documentation.Essential SkillsProficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting, including Allen-Bradley, Bosch, and Siemens PLCs.Experience in developing, testing, and maintaining PLC software.Ability to program and integrate safety controllers and safety PLCs.Experience in HMI development using Ignition and managing SCADA systems.Knowledge of integrating and programming servo-based motion control systems.Experience in robotic integration, specifically with SCARA and 6-axis robots.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.Experience in creating software design specifications and maintaining documentation.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; a master’s degree would be beneficial.Recent experience in manufacturing and machine control programming.Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development.Experience with SCARA and 6-axis robot integration.Experience in the SEMI industry is preferred.Work Environment
The position is based in a new, open-space manufacturing environment. The role requires a hands-on approach and working in the office four days a week, with one day remote. Occasional travel (10-20%) is required for project installations. The company offers great benefits, including 2-3 weeks of PTO, an onsite gym, and company outings.
