Controls Engineer
Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description This consultant will be responsible for providing technical Controls Engineering expertise for the Body shop department. The ideal candidate is hands-on and enjoys working with machines. The role involves analyzing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing electrical problems in manufacturing, as well as completing engineering projects related to electrical controls and programming. The ability to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision is essential. Responsibilities + Initiate control system design from written sequence of operation + Engineer and design pneumatic piping diagrams + Engineer and design electrical wiring diagrams + Engineer and design hydraulic piping diagrams + Design programmable logic controller software + Design programmable human machine interface (HMI) software + Tryout, debug, and provide start-up support for control systems + Provide technical support for the installation of tools and equipment + Provide technical support for training of plant personnel + Travel to plant sites as required Essential Skills + Proficient with the application of programmable machine controls hardware and software + Proficient with the application of Servo drive hardware and software + Proficient with AutoCad + Familiarity with basic electrical standards + Familiarity with basic safety standards + Capable of supervision Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school graduate or equivalent training with seven years of related work experience, or + Associate's Degree in a technical field with four years of related work experience, or + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with at least seven years of post-school experience, or + Entry-level position with a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree that includes technical coursework Work Environment The position is within a production/manufacturing environment (75%) and an engineering office (25%). This role is for the body shop group, and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, high visibility vests, and arm covers must be worn at all times. Ideally, candidates should be open to all three shifts and weekends, with potential rotating shifts every 3-6 months (1st shift: 6:30 am-2:30 pm, 2nd shift: 2:30-10:30 pm, 3rd shift: 9:00 pm-6:30 am).
