Controls Engineer
Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for working on-site to ensure tooling and machinery are running properly. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, debugging, and programming in case of breakdowns or issues with equipment. The candidate will start on the first shift for training and then move to the second shift after a couple of weeks. After a three-month stint on the second shift, the candidate will rotate back to the day shift. Documentation and reporting of any problems or concerns after each shift are required.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure the proper functioning of tooling and machinery.Troubleshoot, debug, and program equipment during breakdowns or issues.Document and report problems and concerns after each shift.Essential SkillsExperience with Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting and debugging.Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, particularly on the assembly plant floor.Familiarity with conveyors and robots (Fanuc, Siemens, Rockwell).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working on automation equipment.Experience in an automotive assembly plant within the Final Assembly Area.Familiarity with Fanuc Robots is a plus.Exposure/Experience with Siemens PLC is a plus.Understanding of the political environment between integrators and unions.Work Environment

The work environment is a plant setting at the Dearborn Truck Plant in Dearborn, MI. The candidate will start on the second shift and work 5:00 am - 5:00 pm or 5:30 pm - 4:30 am, Monday through Friday, with the potential for a sixth day when required. The expected hours are 60 hours a week, with the potential for over 70 hours based on the need for an additional shift. Shift changeovers typically occur every four months. The candidate will work with a team of non-union controls engineers and Ford Skilled trades who are union workers.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00
