Controls Engineer

Description

Primary responsibility is to maintain and support the production lines while directing Maintenance personnel. This includes but is not limited to: PLC and robot programming & troubleshooting, manufacturing process improvements, mechanical improvements to tooling and equipment. Conformance to customer requirements. Must have programming experience with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLCs, and FANUC robots.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

•\tSupporting production to ensure all equipment functions and systems are fully functional including troubleshooting equipment and systems to find and fix the root cause of an issue.

•\tProgramming and troubleshooting I/O blocks, sensors, vision systems, barcode readers, Allen-Bradley & Siemens PLCs/HMIs, servos & servo drives, and Fanuc robots.

•\tConfiguring, programming, and troubleshooting Atlas Copco electronic assembly tools and controllers.

•\tResponsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of assigned projects with maintenance staff and outside vendors.

•\tDeveloping, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing processes.

•\tAnalyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of safety, quality, cost reduction, and throughput.

•\tIdentifying and analyzing gaps in manufacturing processes and developing contingency plans in case of equipment or system failures.

•\tDesigning and developing manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, new products and related fixtures/tooling which are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.

•\tAssist in the preparation of Engineering project proposals.

•\tProcurement of equipment and tooling essential to effective operation of the department.

•\tDevelop RFQ, vendor selection, requisition development, and invoice reconciliation.

•\tEnsure effective Engineering communications.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00
