Controls Engineer
Our client is a global leader in the design, development and distribution of extrusion and converting technology. Their systems encompass over 11 product lines to support manufacturing applications and customers in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, building & construction, consumer products, medical, and packaging. **JOB SUMMARY:** Design new extrusion control systems and make modifications/upgrades to existing extrusion control systems. Assist in Shop Floor checkouts of assembled extrusion control systems, including identifying and documenting possible updates/changes needed to ensure that sold specifications are met. May need to evaluate systems, parts or processes for cost efficiency and reliability to ensure project completion. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Design control systems for continuous web handling machinery to the sold specifications + Will work on design/drafting related tasks with the guidance of a Sr. or Staff Project Engineer + Assist designers in the generation of BOM’s (Bill of Materials) + May oversee the work of other design engineers and work with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner + Provide backup support for assembly, purchasing and field-service related questions and problems + Participate in Project Team meetings for contract and project design review + Travel up to 10% for customer visits, vendor meetings, and start-up/commissioning as required. + Perform other duties as assigned by the Controls and Electrical Engineering Manager + Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 management systems **SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:** + Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or controls related 4-yr degree + 1-5 years of controls and electrical systems design experience with industrial automation or automated machinery preferred, but not required + Control System design including electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, BOMs, test plans, manuals, etc. + Experience with high-speed servo applications and variable frequency drives (VFD’s) + Knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC’s required + HMI programming experience using applications including RSView ME/SE or Wonderware. + Familiarity with SCADA systems and their requirements + Proficiency in AutoCAD + Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office products + Written and verbal communication skills required If you meet the above qualifications and would like to apply for this position, please click APPLY NOW and upload your most current resume or you may email your resume to our recruiter, Heather Murphy at **Heather.Murphy@** **adeccona.com** **Please include "Controls E" on the subject line of any e-mail.
