Job Title: Project Controls EngineerJob Description
Engage actively with clients and provide technical support to aid business development. Offer high-level consulting services to clients while representing the owner to define new control system requirements and project responsibilities. Prepare or oversee the preparation of contract proposals by defining scope and estimating engineering work. Build trusted partnerships with stakeholders to make critical design decisions and coordinate responsibilities among teams, vendors, and subconsultants.
Responsibilities
+ Delegate project tasks to appropriate departments and discipline leads, overseeing multiple project teams as a subject matter expert.
+ Plan, organize, supervise, and review the work of a team of engineers and designers on assigned projects.
+ Anticipate and address process and design roadblocks proactively to prevent negative impacts on business operations.
+ Navigate risk and hazard assessments, selecting appropriate mitigation techniques, including mechanical safeguarding and electrical control system performance requirements.
+ Evaluate and advance machine/system/automation safety issues from the engineering phase through to construction and operational phases.
+ Recognize common failure modes and implement fail-safe concepts for mechanical and electrical control systems.
+ Participate in company safety programs.
+ Mentor, coach, tutor, and serve as a resource for less experienced staff.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with standards (ANSI, CSA, IEC, ISA, ISO, NEC, NFPA, RIA)
+ Familiarity with processes and procedures for Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Safety Integrity Level (SIL), and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) assessments
+ Leadership skills and the ability to lead and influence others
+ Strong critical thinking and analysis skills
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $62.50/hr.
