We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting plant operations by troubleshooting and resolving equipment failures, as well as participating in continuous improvement and upgrade projects. You will act as a technical resource, ensuring safety and high-quality product delivery. This role involves developing and executing technical solutions, creating equipment bills of materials, scopes of work, and estimates for various projects. Additionally, you will facilitate the implementation of electrical and control standards across the manufacturing enterprise.
Responsibilities
+ Support plant operations by troubleshooting and resolving equipment breakdowns.
+ Assist with maintenance and production when equipment fails, including PLC editing and troubleshooting.
+ Participate in capital projects focused on continuous improvement and upgrades.
+ Act as a technical resource for plant operations, ensuring safety and high-quality product delivery.
+ Perform root cause analysis for manufacturing issues, working closely with plant maintenance teams and other controls engineers.
+ Develop, plan, and execute technical solutions, including creating equipment bills of materials, scopes of work, and estimates for projects and upgrades.
+ Facilitate the implementation of electrical and control standards across the manufacturing enterprise.
+ Commission and maintain equipment, ensuring it meets operational standards.
+ Develop and edit PLC and HMI solutions within AllenBradley and FactoryTalk.
+ Provide technical support for electrical design, data processing, and instrumentation.
+ Lead the adoption and implementation of electrical and control standards across the manufacturing enterprise.
+ Conduct root cause analysis to resolve issues and deliver sustainable solutions in collaboration with plant technical peers.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Food and Beverage.
+ Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming and instrumentation.
+ Experience with Allen Bradley PLC, FactoryTalk, and other programming languages.
+ Ability to troubleshoot machines, PLCs, and automated systems.
+ Experience with commissioning and installation of equipment.
+ Ability to read and design electrical schematics and layouts.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing process controls networks, infrastructure, and security systems.
+ Experience with control power distribution layouts and panel layouts.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
+ Experience with project management and leading technical projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Rockwell PLC/HMI and electrical design in a manufacturing setting.
+ Ability to lead knowledge transfer and implementation of approved standards and practices for electrical and control systems.
+ Experience with network implementation, PLCs, HMIs, field devices, and control network systems.
+ Ability to develop and execute technical solutions, including creating equipment bills of materials, scopes of work, and estimates.
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Work Environment
You will work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures inside the plant. You will spend time both in an office setting and on the plant floor. Occasional travel between locations may be required. The role offers 2-3 weeks of PTO, sick time, and 8 holidays.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
