Controls Engineer - Albion, IN Job Description This company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of axles, suspension systems, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts, accessories, and towing components. They cater to the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, and marine industries. With multiple manufacturing and distribution locations across the United States, their headquarters is located in Elkhart, IN. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for supporting large capital projects within a cross-functional team, developing process improvements, and leading implementation efforts on the production floor. Travel up to 30% will be expected in this role to Florida, California, Iowa, Texas, and Indiana facilities. *THIS IS A PROJECT-BASED ROLE.* Responsibilities + Designing PLC programs, servo motion, hydraulics, pneumatics, and sensors + Taking ownership of electrical design from the project scope through completion + Participating in cross-functional design reviews to establish standard and custom product designs for new product launches + Developing and communicating manufacturing standards for new product launches, project initiatives, and efficiency improvements to all departments + Reviewing and approving engineering prints and specifications for optimum manufacturability, cost, tooling, and process structure + Collaborating with the product design team to resolve all engineering and design-related problems as well as providing manufacturing inputs required for cost-effective designs + Initiating and participating in departmental or company strategic programs, which includes cycle time analysis, safety, quality, and/or cost improvements Essential Skills + Minimum 5 years of controls engineering experience + Allen-Bradley PLC programming (from scratch) + Fanuc robotics integration + Ground up automation integration and design experience + Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Ethernet, Ignition, and SCADA Work Environment This role involves up to 30% travel to Florida, California, Iowa, Texas, and Indiana locations. It is set in an industrial manufacturing environment, operating on the 1st shift. You will report to the corporate automation engineering team that is currently being built out. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $60.10/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
