Job Description

This company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of axles, suspension systems, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts, accessories, and towing components. Serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, and marine industries, they have multiple manufacturing and distribution locations across the United States, with headquarters in Elkhart, IN. The Controls Engineer will support capital projects within a cross-functional team, develop process improvements, and lead implementation efforts on the production floor. This position is based in Albion, IN with no anticipated travel requirements.

ResponsibilitiesDesign PLC programs, servo motion, hydraulics, pneumatics, and sensors.Take ownership of electrical design from project scope through completion.Participate in cross-functional design reviews to establish standard and custom product designs for new product launches.Develop and communicate manufacturing standards for new product launches, project initiatives, and efficiency improvements to all departments.Review and approve engineering prints and specifications for optimum manufacturability, cost, tooling, and process structure.Collaborate with the product design team to resolve all engineering and design-related problems and provide manufacturing inputs required for cost-effective designs.Initiate and participate in departmental or company strategic programs, including cycle time analysis, safety, quality, and/or cost improvements.Essential SkillsMinimum 5 years of controls engineering experience.Allen-Bradley PLC programming (from scratch).Fanuc robotics integration.SCADA programming experience (Python scripting).AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.Ethernet.Work Environment

Industrial manufacturing environment, 1st shift. Located at the Albion, IN site. You will have the opportunity to support and lead efforts of installing and integrating state-of-the-art automation equipment. The company has grown substantially in the past ten years.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $60.10/hr.
