CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Controls Engineer II.

**Job Title:** Controls Engineer II
**Location:** Vineland, NJ
_Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Vineland, NJ_
**Pay Rate:** Based on experience
**Work Hours:** M-F 8am-5pm
**Education:** Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (minimum requirement)

+ Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
**Description:**
As a Controls Engineer II, you will program the controllers on the factory floor, debug and solve equipment issues, and minimize downtime by identifying root causes and implementing robust engineering solutions. You will develop a deep understanding of the control systems and how they work with other plant systems.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve control systems (PLCs, HMIs, etc.) on the production floor to ensure optimal equipment operation and improve uptime and product quality metrics.
+ Identify the underlying reason behind control system issues and resolve them to the root cause.
+ Support new equipment installation and commissioning.
+ Plan electrical machine improvements, resolve electrical problems, and execute electrical upgrade plans.
+ Collaborate with other engineering groups to align with plant priorities.
+ Provide technical guidance to develop training documentation, operating procedures, troubleshooting documents, and work instructions.
+ Provide controls expertise to multi-functional teams when needed.
+ Update engineering documents and drawings as changes are made to the systems.
+ Identify and lead improvements to existing control systems.
+ Align new systems to plant and corporate standards.
+ Follow electrical safety requirements and implement safe practices.
**Travel Requirements:**
+ Minimal travel required (~5%)
**Required Qualifications:**
+ 3+ years of controls experience
+ Ladder logic programming experience with Allen Bradley PLCs
+ Experience in implementing control strategies
+ Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to find the underlying reason for issues
**Desired Skills:**
+ Exposure to a manufacturing environment
+ Working knowledge of measurements and optics
+ Experience with HMIs and SCADA systems
+ Project management experience
+ Programming and networking understanding (VB .NET, C#, Java, Python)
+ Experience with Cognex cameras
**Soft Skills:**
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Desire to continuously learn and develop new skills
+ Technical curiosity with a drive to identify underlying mechanisms and root causes
+ Ability to perform well in a team-based setting and handle multiple tasks and priorities
+ Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
+ Customer-focused and result-oriented
+ Ability to work with different functional groups such as Quality, Engineering, Operations, etc.
