We are looking for a Controls Engineer Summer 2025 Intern to join our Autonomous Solutions team in our Evansville, Indiana location!
The Controls Engineer Intern will touch on a variety of areas and disciplines related to Controls and Electrical Engineering. You will be responsible for the design, build, programming, testing, and documentation for a R&D vehicle to validate engineering enhancements as they relate to GPS, LiDAR, autopropel, and controls algorithms. Upon the final weeks of the internship, interns will be asked to present a summary of their experience to our leadership team and be given the opportunity to provide impactful feedback.
Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related fieldStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectivelyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsResponsibilities
Create a mobile research and development vehicle to test Autonomous Solutions Engineering enhancements including but not limited to GPS, LiDAR, autopropel, and controls algorithms Contribute to overall design and feature set of the vehicle with Flanders Controls Engineer Program mobile R&D vehicle to integrate into existing Ardvarc Validation Area in Indy Create Validation Test Cases for Engineering signoff Create technical documentation for other engineers to effectively use and troubleshoot the vehicle Report on outcomes and a summary of your experiences with Flanders
