**Role Purpose**
Leads engineering and automation projects in a manufacturing environment. Specifies, procures, and completes projects to automate production processes, improves machine controls, and install machine data reporting. Supports automation and controls in a manufacturing environment. Designs new electrical controls systems and improves existing electrical controls systems. Manage projects from design to implementation, including defining project scope, determining required resources, establishing equipment specifications, providing system startup services, developing processes, and executing validation protocols. Ensures compliance/improvement of quality systems in manufacturing (i.e., ISO, QSR, GMP). Participate in new product development and process improvement projects as a core team member or core team leader.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead large equipment installation, integration, and/or replacement projects for the facilty.
+ Deliver strong project leadership skills through the project initiation, planning, implementation and closeout phases
+ Coach, mentor, and/or develop junior level Controls Engineers and Technicians.
+ Develop and lead new technologies into the manufacturing environment, including obsolescence replacement/mitigation.
+ Provide Subject Matter Expertise for Industrial Control Systems, Industrial Robotics, and Machine Automation.
+ Provide best practices for Controls Team on modifications, upgrades, and other code alterations.
+ Perform hands-on troubleshooting and process improvements in manufacturing operations. Use root cause analysis to eliminate process problems.
+ Ensure compliance/improvement of quality systems in manufacturing (i.e., ISO, QSR, GMP).
+ Directs the activities of internal and external resources during the completion of project work, process troubleshooting and machine improvement activities.
+ Oversees the work of internal and external engineers / technicians to ensure that their work adheres to company standards, and local, state, and federal codes.
+ Work as a member of the Electrical Support Team that responds to manufacturing process upsets or plant system downtime events during off hours as needed.
**Requirements**
+ BS in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field (automation, controls).
+ 10 years of experience troubleshooting, implementing, and programming industrial equipment with PLC software applications.
+ 10 years of experience programming and troubleshooting industrial robotics such as Fanuc, Epson, Staubli.
+ Demonstrated experience with industrial equipment standards such as NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, UL508A.
+ Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, electrical equipment, PLC programs, sensors, valves, motors, drives, and HVAC systems.
+ Experience with CAD Software (AutoCAD/ePlan) for electrical design work.
+ Experience with PLC controlled high speed automated assembly equipment.
+ Experience with PLC manufacturers: Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron
**Experiences/Education - Desired**
+ 10 years Programming experience with Rockwell Logix5000/Studio5000 and TIA PortalV16+ applications
+ Demonstrated Safety PLC Programming, implementation, and validation experience
+ Familiarity with different inspection techniques for various glass defects.
+ Knowledge of image processing algorithms and measurement tools
+ Application experience using vision tools for the inspection of transparent “clear” glass or polystyrene.
+ Experience in a GMO regulated industry- Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage or Medical Device
+ Experience in Project Management involving automation equipment, building controls, or facility maintenance.

The range for this position is $119,082.00 - $163,739.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
