Job Description:

The Controls Groups Manager is responsible for leading teams with accountability for developing and implementing analytics and automation strategies for quality control and regulatory compliance testing within the following US Treasury businesses: US Liquidity Management, US Asset Liability Management, US Investments, US Capital Planning and Management (DFAST Stress Testing) and US Resolution and Recovery Planning. This role develops the monitoring and testing plan and related strategies for testing automation. Experience managing quality control and regulatory compliance testing is required for this role with demonstrated success developing and implementing data analytics and testing automation strategies.

Depth & Scope:

Works with Senior Management of Regional Commercial and Risk Management to ensure key risk items are addressed and effective controls are in place while at the same time facilitating achievement of Business Line objectivesEffectively sets the tone from the top regarding expectations for the importance of risk management principles and controlsDevelops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of the technical and business aspects of Regional Commercial Lending, Risk Management, Commercial Operations and Credit Policy in order to effectively manage various initiatives and resourcesActs as the liaison between internal audit, loan review and the business line to ensure management and oversight of the audit processProvides input and leadership surrounding the strategic direction to address audit, loan review and regulatory findings as well as core risk initiatives and credit policy changesMaintains oversight of working groups to ensure that all audit, loan review and regulatory issues are satisfactorily resolved and work proceeds to meet established deadlinesLeads or participates in strategic project initiatives to within Regional Commercial to mitigate risk, enhance controls or remediate audit, loan review or regulatory findingsCreates and maintains Key Risk Indicators for Regional Commercial Banking and monitors Key Risk Indicators from core business partners, escalating issues to senior management as neededEffectively manages communication to ensure that Senior Management and business partners are aware of any significant risk changes or events, in a timely mannerParticipates in Regional Commercial Risk Council and Committee structureCreates content and administers meetings as requiredCoordinates and supervises ongoing quality assurance testing program to evaluate business line control effectiveness. Works with impacted parties to initiate action plans to resolve identified control breakdowns within acceptable timeframesEstablishes oversight of business line risk controls and periodically evaluates risk mitigation efforts to assess effectiveness and make adjustments as risk/business goals changeResponsible for designing and executing training and communication plans to ensure Business Line understanding and compliance with key risk initiativesProvides recommendations on project organization and governance structure and puts agreed organization structure in place


Education & Experience:

4 year degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below10+ years related experience requiredIn depth knowledge of Commercial business line, business model, credit risk management, operations, and related processesPrevious management experience with the ability to coach, counsel, and train staffStrong communications skills including the ability to influence others' actions and decisions without express authorityDemonstrates ability to manage projects, including task and responsibility delegationExperience designing and delivering training to a wide audienceExcellent follow up skills and the ability to manage competing priorities according to business needsAbility to establish and maintain strong relationships across multiple stakeholders and departmental boundaries
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with data analytics and automationdemonstrated application of automated testing approaches preferred
