Purpose and role of job:
Responsible for supervising the Controls technicians and supporting their efforts directed toward maintaining and ensuring reliability at lowest cost in the most efficient manner for their area. Ensure all controls team member’s goals are aligned with department objectives and use resources as needed to ensure the goals are met. Execute consistency in work processes, training, employee development, and HR practices. Provide a strong relationship with Production team and the other groups that support them. Core accountabilities are scheduling resources to support the business and growing/coaching team members for continued success.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
Leads and develops safe work culture through adhering to and maintaining all company safety rules, policies, and standards.Ensure safety and housekeeping standards of the controls shops, production floor and surrounding areas are met.Exhibit strong core leadership skills – accountability, credibility, trust. Demonstrate the leadership behaviors that lead to business results.Be a role model demonstrating the First Quality Culture.Ensure coaching, discipline, recognition, and handling of situations is consistent with HR policy.Grow salary non-exempt reports into their next role.Appraise and evaluate all salary non-exempt employees as required.Teams with Operations, Production Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor and Planner on the identification, coordination and execution of workManages area controls resources.Sets expectation for work quality and feedback from control techsEnsures work force effectiveness by eliminating the potential for delays and ensuring the proper resources are available by managing vacation and work schedulesJointly accountable for spare parts usage repair complianceWorks with Production to ensure reliability improvementsKey driver for the application work instructions, Predictive and Preventative Maintenance Systems for the areaInterface with Production, Engineering, Human Resources, Information Technology, Maintenance, and Quality departments.Develop and maintain staffing plans to meet business requirements.Assist in developing and delivering maintenance budgets.Provides, organizes and administers technical training to controls technicians.Education and experience requirements:
Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required, bachelor’s degree preferred.Minimum of three years electrical/controls maintenance experience (preferably in and industrial environment).Supervisory experience preferred.Possess a fundamental understanding of the planning and scheduling of maintenance work functions as they apply to predictive, preventive, precision, proactive, and planned maintenance.First Quality is committed to protecting information under the care of First Quality Enterprises commensurate with leading industry standards and applicable regulations.
