Control System Software Engineer

Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid working)

Rolls-Royce is looking for a Control System Software Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls-Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi-disciplinary team.

As a Control System Software Engineer, you will be the owner of assigned control system functions and interfaces. You will develop, write, test and document embedded code for safety critical Electronic engine control and monitoring systems and be involved at any stage of a project lifecycle from concept development, integrated/component testing through final production release. You'll usually work in project teams with colleagues in other branches of engineering.

Key Accountabilities:

Strong development experienceFamiliarity with the design and development of embedded software solutionsKnowledge in software design patternsFamiliarity with Integration (software/hardware and software/software) and component level testingFamiliarity on software lifecycle (Design to release)Knowledge of software testing framework

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline with 2+ years Software (traditional and model-base) or Systems experience, ORMaster’s degree in STEM discipline with experience in Software or Systems, ORPhD in degree in STEM discipline with experience in Software or SystemsIn order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

2+ years of experience in embedded safety critical software engineeringFamiliar with Model based software design and simulation (Simulink or similar)Use a DO-178 compliant software coding process.Control systems experienceDigital logic design experienceFamiliar with verification and testing frameworksFamiliar with working in agile software development teamsDesire to successfully work in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers   Current (or ability to obtain/maintain) US DOD Secret or Top Secret security ClearanceAbility to present technical data to senior engineers and management

Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location.  It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement.  As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
