**Summary/Objective** The Controls Technician position performs highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain customer’s equipment. Work will include, but not limited to installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing a wide variety of water & wastewater controls, such as: VFDs, PLCs, SCADA telemetry, & station control panels. **Essential Functions** 1. 2. Perform highly diversified duties to install, repair, and troubleshoot controls of fluid handling products. 3. Understanding of basic PLC knowledge (Allen Bradley) 4. Provide on-call assistance for emergency/unscheduled repairs of Control equipment as needed. 5. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities. 6. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic. 7. Read and interpret pump manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. 8. Able to understand and follow ladder diagrams and wiring schematics 9. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments. 10. Use various hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. 11. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. **Competencies** 1. 2. Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, process instrumentation, and Windows-based control software is desired. 3. Knowledge of Allen Bradley software 4. Technical Capacity. 5. Ethical Conduct. 6. Communication Proficiency. 7. Results Driven. 8. Initiative. **Work Environment** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. **Physical Demands** The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. **Position Type/Expected Hours of Work** This is a full-time hourly position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, around 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the potential of overtime. **Travel** Travel is frequent with this position to various locations around the state and neighboring states as needed. Electric Pump provides a truck and a company credit card for most expenses.
