In this role, you will troubleshoot and repair plant equipment; perform PMs as required; troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, PLC, HMI, motion control instrumentation and system networks. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develops/schedules/coordinates department tasks, resources, work schedules and equipment. * Accurately completes all required paperwork. * Coordinates maintenance and repairs to processing and packaging equipment, assists when necessary. * Administers and enforces GMP"s and safety practices. * Provides effective leadership and direction for maintenance department. * Provides assistance in scheduling of machines for repair or rebuild. * Operates equipment in a safe manner following GMP guidelines and keeps work area clean. * Participates in meetings; trains others. * Comply with all safety policies, procedures and good work practices * Participates in audits where assigned (Safety, GMP, 5S, etc.) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent level or technical training and 3 to 5 years of related experience. * Strong understanding and working knowledge (operation and maintenance) of all processing, packaging and associated equipment. * Must have working knowledge of electronic circuitry, electrical and pneumatic schemes, equipment prints and facility maintenance. * Extensive experience with PLC programming; Capable of supporting large, complicated, proprietary PLC programs. * Must have strong troubleshooting skills to resolve both PLC hardware and PLC software related problems. * Has a complete understanding of PLC communications. * Must have an understanding of the functionality and operation of the individual software packages including computer network communication systems. * Maintains strong troubleshooting skills to resolve both hardware and software related problems with these systems. * Must have a detailed understanding of the functionality of the individual hardware components of a typical servo motor-based motion control system including motion controllers, servo motor amplifiers, servo motors, and feedback devices (incremental and absolute encoders, and resolvers). * Capable of troubleshooting applications that implement simple to moderately complex motion control systems. * Must be able to configure & troubleshoot variable frequency drive systems and have an understanding of basic and advanced parameters. * Must be able to troubleshoot device networks implemented with DH+, Remote I/O, Ethernet, and other technologies. * Maintains skills needed to configure, calibrate and troubleshoot both simple and complex devices to include but not limited to flow transmitters, temperature transmitters and pressure transducers. * Must have strong electrical skills. * Must be able to troubleshoot controls and relay logic; understands electrical theory and basic calculations. * Must be familiar with the National Electrical Code. * Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics. * Must be able to install, wire and set up electrical apparatus, components and devices from drawings. * Must have strong PC skills with familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CMMS programs. * Possess own tools required to perform job duties. * Will follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
