Job Title: Controls Technician Job Description Interpret PLC ladder logic and troubleshoot electrical control systems including PLC, robotics, servos, drives, and touch-screens using a laptop including Allen Bradley, GE, and Siemens brands. Requires 5 years of experience in industrial electrical controls or educational equivalent. Must have working knowledge of the National Electric Code and reference it when required. Ability to fabricate and wire electrical panels and terminal boxes. Must be able to read and update electrical and pneumatic schematics. Operate power shop tools as well as common hand tools. Must meet the work at heights requirements when operating a scissor lift. Solid PC computing skills are essential. Ability to take initiative and engage in continued growth and development to learn new technologies. Basic understanding of Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Law is required. Develop continuous improvement plans and recommendations on better, more efficient and less costly methods to complete jobs. Ability to effectively perform formal root cause analysis is necessary. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. Must be able to stand and/or walk 90% of an 8-hour day which includes climbing a ladder or steps. Must meet vision and hearing requirements and pass written and practical electrical tests. Electrical Arc Flash Safety and Lock Out Tag Out training is required.
