Job Description:
The Controls Technician’s role is to provide leadership in PM capability, WO completion, breakdown elimination, and technical support for delivering the team’s operational targets such as safety, quality, and efficiency results. The Controls TR will have a focus on WOs and issues related to controls, instrumentation, or electrical systems; but will be expected to support mechanical WOs and issues as needed. This role must proactively identify and action risks to safety, food safety, quality, and production losses. Must also lead and coach root cause problem solving with the Make and Pack Technicians on the team, effectively communicate priorities, and escalate issues within their area and across shifts. The controls TR will also take technical direction from the controls leader to assist them in the execution of controls-specific support work.
Technical Resources have a thorough understanding and mastery of Manufacturing Reliability Fundamentals such as Integrated Work Systems (IWS) and the Factory Mars Operating System (FMOS/Daily Direction Setting DDS). This role will support the development and execution of Clean, Inspect, Lubricate (CIL), Center Line (CL), and Defect Management for their assigned area in Make or Pack. The Technical Resource is responsible for maintaining standard running conditions of operating equipment in their area plus the repair or replacement of failed components, the ability to troubleshoot unknown equipment issues, and recommend adjustments to center lines.

3+ years of experience in maintenance/reliability at Mars or equivalentAdvanced controls and electrical skillsHigh school diploma or GEDWorking knowledge of Good Manufacturing PracticesAbility to convey communications clearly and concisely.Understanding of major functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with all levels and functions.Able to deal with ambiguity effectively.Successful completion of a drug and background screenAbility to work rotating shifts under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, heights, and/or confined spaces.Have full mobility with the ability to climb ladders and stairs.Ability to lift 50 lbs.Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of maintenance at MarsPrevious maintenance/TR experience at NEA factoryTechnical degree in industrial electrical/controls or related degree3 to 5 years of experience in a TPM/technical, manufacturing environmentDemonstrated experience working in quality and safety.Functional knowledge and understanding of HACCP concepts.What will be your key responsibilities?
