The Controls Technician will be responsible for automated equipment within the manufacturing lines, dividing their time equally between projects and maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain and repair control and automation systems by performing tests, calibrations, and troubleshooting of equipment, instrumentation, and networks at the direction of the Controls Engineer or Maintenance Manager.Work with Plant Management and the Plant Maintenance Team to actively operate and eliminate downtime in the facility.Lead controls integration projects as needed for the installation or modification of equipment.Assist with line implementation efforts.Own the troubleshooting of automated issues occurring within manufacturing.Have a foundational understanding of the company's manufacturing process and the automation involved.Install, program, inspect, troubleshoot, and adjust electrical devices and equipment, instrumentation, and related controls hardware.Review, modify, and create CAD drawings and any other controls-related documentation.Perform network troubleshooting and diagnostics for Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.5+ years of experience in a production manufacturing environment with automation controls, control systems troubleshooting/programming, and motor controls.5+ years of experience with PLC programs.Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting.Proficiency in HMI, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC troubleshooting, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the food and beverage industry.Experience in machine building.Work Environment
Work is performed indoors in a manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required. The environment is clean and climate-controlled. The equipment worked on is new machinery. The Controls Technician will work alongside two existing control technicians and will collaborate directly with one controls engineer and the engineering manager. Shifts available are Monday-Friday, with overtime available and capped at 54 hours a week. Shift times are 1st: 6:00-2:30, 2nd: 2:00-10:30, and 3rd: 10:30-6:00.

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00
