Join our dynamic Production Engineering (PE) Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering (VME) Battery Pack Assembly team. You will support the development and maintenance of battery pack assembly equipment, ensuring compliance with standards and safety. This role requires a technically experienced individual with a background in PLC programming and a flexible, team-oriented attitude.
ResponsibilitiesSupport equipment development for the Battery Pack Assembly group in collaboration with NAMCs and global teams.Develop equipment specifications to confirm standards compliance.Conduct equipment machine risk assessments and confirmation activities.Perform equipment checks for safety, electrical, and mechanical design confirmations.Verify equipment, conveyor, and logistics hardware for cell and zone safety interlocks.Participate in vendor buy-off trials and larger zone trials for equipment confirmations.Adjust equipment to achieve safety, quality, and productivity targets.Essential Skills3+ years of technical experience in a relevant field.Proficiency in PLC programming for Allen Bradley, Omron, or Siemens.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Flexible to work with different teams, travel, and work overtime as needed.Experience with manufacturing equipment procurement, installation, and confirmation.Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.Experience with Kawasaki or Fanuc Industrial Robots for part transfer or auto-tightening.Experience with Keyence or other vision system setup and integration.Experience with AMRs and AGVs, including AGV traffic control systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications2-year associate's degree in a technical field, completion of a trade school, or 3+ years of relevant technical experience.Ability and willingness to work up to 25% overtime, including 12-hour shifts with significant weekend and holiday work.Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% at peak times, both domestically and internationally.Work Environment
This position is based 100% on-site at TMMK in Georgetown, KY. Working hours are either from 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM local time. The role may require travel up to 50% during peak times to locations in the US, Canada, Mexico, and possibly Japan, with trips lasting from one to two weeks or up to a month. Candidates should be prepared to work overtime, including weekends, as needed. Personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes and safety glasses are required, with other safety gear provided on-site.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
