Convention Setup Assistant Manager
Overview As a Conventions Setup Assistant Manager you are responsible for overseeing the completion of all daily event setups, including occasional technical requirements, furniture, equipment. Responsibilities The Convention Setup Manager's typical job functions include: Leading a team of 10-15 team members Creating work schedules, managing payroll, coaching team members Ensuring cleanliness and superior condition of all meeting and banquet rooms, including windows, baseboards, etc. Overseeing setup of meeting and banquet needs (tables, chairs, linen, etc.) Ensuring cleanliness of loading dock, and surrounding Civic Center area, including Village Lane, and stairway area to tunnel Reporting and following up on all maintenance issues in meeting rooms and surrounding areas, such as lightbulbs and ceiling tiles, etc Addressing all maintenance issues to ensure that they are repaired Ensuring cleanliness of the Ski Cafeteria Setting up and teardown of ski lockers Setting up movie nights and other events as assigned Assisting the Convention Setup Manager with daily tasks as assigned. Traveling may be required to attend relevant conferences and seminars to stay in the forefront of current trends, issues, and successful business practices as it relates to education and training programs Qualifications This position might be for you if: You are at least 18 years old You have achieved a high school diploma or completed a GED; Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year technical College; two-years of related experience preferred You possess a valid driver's license You have previous experience successfully leading a team, strong communication skills and excellent attention for details You have experience with Microsoft computer programs such as Word and Excel You are able to frequently stand; walk; lift and or move 25 pounds; frequently lift and or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds You are interested in being a part of a team focused on success
