Conversions Supervisor

Job Summary: 

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Supervisor Conversions coordinates and supervises staff and the daily activities involved in the successful execution of events and conversions. 

Essential Duties:

Supervise and assist with all aspects of operations including confirming staff, setups and conversions; enforcing safety procedures; and implementing building and department policies, while maintaining superior customer service.Supervise operations staff, including training employees; planning, assigning and managing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.Maintain department equipment and tool inventory.  Assist with maintaining the building’s overall appearance.Investigate, analyze, and resolve operational issues.Act as a liaison with tenants, contractors, facility users, and other internal departments as needed.Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage, loss of property, or any other safety or security concerns to the Manager.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):

A minimum education level of High School Diploma or its equivalency    Years related work experience:  2-3 including 2 years supervising in public assembly facility industryAbility to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing.Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, with tight timeframes, and produce accurate results.Demonstrated knowledge of general operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and/or conversion requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.Possess skills and experience in supervising, time management, and proper delegation.Able to effectively and professionally lead and motivate staff to achieve results.   Engage in decision-making that is generally governed by procedure and guided by policy. Experience maintaining effective working relationships with clients, employees, vendors, guests and others encountered during employment.Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, CAD prints, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and other related materials.Possess (or can easily obtain) licenses, certifications or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility – particularly, a forklift.Knowledge of current First Aid, OSHA and facility safety procedures.Ability to move about the venue for extended periods during a shift.Ability to constantly position self to complete installations over, under and through.Ability to frequently ascend/descend ladders or stairs and move materials and equipment up to 50lbs.Ability to operate machinery such as small hand and power tools.Able to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and some holidays.
