Job Title: Lead Conveyor Mechanic

Job Description

This high-level position is crucial and needs to be filled quickly due to the approaching holiday season and a push to increase processing volume. The role involves working four 10-hour days on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, primarily focused on conveyor systems and troubleshooting within a 700,000 sq. ft. distribution center.

ResponsibilitiesRespond to and resolve service calls, providing mechanical and technical support.Troubleshoot automated material handling system components.Perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair processes of complex equipment and systems without direct supervision.Conduct mechanical and lubrication tasks on automated material handling equipment, including belt installation, bolt and tension roll adjustment, straightening parts, aligning rollers, and replacing defective parts.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and repairs on various equipment including pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, and electronic and electrical equipment according to safety and quality procedures.Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures while providing work order feedback on discrepancies.Utilize working knowledge to troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, automated conveyor systems, and key components of the distribution center.Provide feedback and timely documentation to ensure resolution with Facilities Manager, Supervisor/Lead, and other Operations Managers.Support daily operations by performing daily inspections as required by site guidelines.Perform general facility maintenance such as light bulb replacement, office furniture relocation, light plumbing, and light electrical repairs.Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, boom and scissor lifts, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.Participate in cleaning the conveyor systems and maintenance area as appropriate.Essential Skills5+ years of hands-on experience performing maintenance on industrial manufacturing process/production equipment.Strong mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues hands-on.Good working knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and maintaining automated conveyor systems.Proficiency in using hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, welding, and reading blueprints.Understanding of CMMS systems for work order and inspection completion and documentation.Ability to read, write, and follow numbers and directives in English.Basic math skills for inventory management and measurement conversions.Command of safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out.Why Work Here?

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00
