As a SONIC Drive-In restaurant Cook, you will oversee the Appetite Satisfaction Department, which involves operating the following stations: Food Production, Grill, Fryer, and other tasks if applicable.

Cook tasks in the restaurant may include:Preparing and cooking food orders to meet product quality standardsFood preparation and portioningCooking on the grillOperating the fry stationDressing items to orderPackaging all menu items and checking for product quality and consistencyCleaning including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes, wiping counter-tops and sanitizing food areasRequirements:Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidaysAbility to be flexible in all situations based on business needEffective communication skills; basic math and reading skillsAbility to follow directionsWillingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC Drive-In restaurantsGeneral knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry or retail operations preferred, but not requiredCompany Introduction

In 1953, the prototype of the first SONIC® Drive-In® opened in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Back then, SONIC revolutionized the ordering process by using curbside speakers that allowed customers to place food orders without ever leaving their cars. This technology spawned the slogan “Service at the Speed of Sound,” which translated to one word: SONIC. Troy Smith Sr. aptly changed the name from Top Hat to SONIC Drive-In in 1959.
