Summary:

The Senior Living Center Cook is responsible for the preparation and serving of meals, cleanliness of kitchen, food perparation for next day's menu. High quality standards are essential for all food products prepared. Operates all kitchen equipment utensils. Ability to manage closing staff and to lock up all kitchen areas.

 

Experience/Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalency preferredProven experience as a cookExperience using cutting tools, cookware and bakewareKnowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc)Ability to follow all sanitation proceduresAbility to work in a teamVery good communication skillsLicense or Certification Requirements:
Food Service Sanitation Certificate required.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipmentPrepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc)Cook food in various utensils or grillersCheck food while cooking to stir or turnEnsure great presentation by dressing dishes before the dish is servedKeep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchenEnsure all food and other items are stored properlyCheck quality of ingredientsMonitor stock and place orders when there are shortagesFilling out daily logsOpening and closing duties Supports policy and procedures for all culinary to maintain efficient, safe environment.
