Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare menu for approval that follows nutrition guidelines.
• Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods.
• Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.
• Handle and store ingredients and food.
• To prepare, serve and clean up for the clients (you are required to prep for the next day).
• Put all food away in proper containers, labeled with date.
• Clean all surfaces and empty dishwasher.
• Sweep and wet mop dining room and kitchen areas.
• Remove all trash form the kitchen and dining areas.
• Secure building by locking all applicable door prior to clocking out.
• Supervise volunteers to help prepare, serve and cleanup.
• Review inventory, rotate products, anticipate needs, and request supplies.
• Keep accurate records and statistics.
• Maintain food safety preparation.
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen and dining area.
• Supervise volunteers.
SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Knowledge of Food Service
• Experience planning and cooking for large group
• Safe-Serve food handling certification
• Experience cooking different types of food
• Knowledge of State and Federal Laws
• Must meet the New York State Job and Family Service requirements to work with children, and vulnerable adults: pass a background check.
